      • Platinum calls Bayonetta for the PS3 “[their] biggest failure”

Bayonetta for the PS3 got a lot of flak when it launched with all of its issues, but it recieved generally favorable reviews along with it’s Xbox 360 brother.

However, Director Atsushi Inaba believes it could have been done better.

“The biggest failure for Platinum so far, the one that really sticks in my mind, is that port.” says the director. “At the time, we didn’t really know how to develop on PS3 all that well…looking back on the result, and especially what ended up being released to users, I regard as our biggest failure.”

Platinum, in reaction to this, decided to develop both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Vanquish internally, rather than handing off the port to Sega once more, in a desire to “take responsibility for everything.”
