      • Medal of Honor: Warfighter Is Causing Some Controversy

        -Marcus Lawrence

What I’m about to say is my thoughts and my thoughts alone. The other members of GGN have nothing to do with this. As some of you may know already, Medal of Honor: Warfighter is inspired by real-world events. So conflicts in the Philippines and Somalia will be included in the single-player; alongside many other hot spots. What’s causing the issue isn’t the main campaign but the DLC that is scheduled for release.

Zero Dark Thirty is a film that comes out in December and focuses on the ten years it took to find and ultimately kill Osama Bin Laden. The DLC in question is called Zero Dark Thirty map pack which features two maps that players can see the actual location of where Osama Bin Laden was killed. Now here’s my problem with this whole idea…why is EA doing this?

For EA to honestly try cashing in on people’s emotions like this is pretty upsetting. The map pack could have easily been called map pack 1 or Delta Strike. But no, they deliberately named the downloadable content after the film to no doubt boost sales. EA is a big company too, so it’s not like that need the extra money or whatever. So what do you, the reader, think about this?

Is right for EA to do something like this or do you feel this is a bit much?

Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be available on October 23th for all consoles. The Zero Dark Thirty map pack costs $9.99 for 2 maps and will launch on December 17th to tie-in with the movie.
